Fun Little Learners
Academic Tutoring with Qualified Teachers
Engaging Tutoring in Primary Education
Why Tutoring?
Sometimes a child just needs a confidence boost or a Teacher to explain things in a different way, focusing in on the way they enjoy working.
Maybe the child wants to work on areas they find a challenge to make them feel more confident and willing. Or maybe as a parent you would like that support from a Teacher to explain and show methods for working, and know you have someone to ask for help.
These are often what I am asked to help with when supporting children and their families with primary teaching.
Experienced Teacher and Tutor
Having taught across Primary since 2004, in teaching, leadership and SENCo roles, experience is invaluable to know what is next for your child and how learning can be adapted to suit the individual.
Unique Approach
Teaching sessions will be tailored for your child, usually the best learning is with lots of practical activities, games and exploring the topics covered.
Private or Small Groups
Some people learn best on their own; others prefer learning in groups. You can choose the environment that works best for you.
Focused Lessons
Every lesson is 60 minutes long, for optimal effectiveness. Some younger children start with shorter 45 minute session, these can be worked out depending upon your need and availability.

Testimonials

Chrissie tutored my son through his primary school years, where it was made apparent that he was struggling.
Chrissie has an amazing teaching skill which is informative, engaging and, judging by the laughter which I heard from the kitchen, very fun! My son had a new found confidence in tackling maths and Chrissie encouraged him to have the confidence to find his way to the correct answer.
Chrissie always provided comprehensive teaching plans which were relevant and supportive to the curriculum. Furthermore, Chrissie made sure that I was aware of my sons struggles and achievements, which were always rewarded with motivating rewards.
I only wish that I had had a teacher like Chrissie to help me with maths! I can thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend her to tutor your child.
Lisa, Parent

Chrissie started tutoring our daughter in Maths back in 2016 when she was in Yr3 at a time when her confidence in Maths was low, struggling with even the basics (tables, number bonds etc). She had fallen behind at school and Chrissie, over the period of 4-5 years slowly took her confidence and ability to a standard we didn’t think possible. Now in KS3, our daughter no longer fears Maths, actually enjoying her school lessons.
Chrissie is not only an excellent teacher but it’s clear she takes immense pride in her work, instilling the self-belief every child needs.

"After a recommendation from a neighbour and close friend we were introduced to Chrissie when our daughter was struggling with her maths and English in Year 2. Chrissie has been incredible as our daughter has gone from hiding under the table to being very competent in both subject areas.
We are now all the way into Year 6 now and we have retained Chrissie for maths using remote learning as we have moved out of area. I can honestly say I don't know what we would have done without her these last years. She's amazing!"
Fiona, Parent

“I really enjoyed my time learning with Chrissie. She always broke everything down for me and made Maths fun to learn. I miss our lessons now”
Olivia, Student

Chrissie tutored both my son and daughter when they were in Years 5 and 6
They had always struggled with their self-confidence when it came to Maths. and I wanted the tutoring to help them develop this.
Chrissie made the learning fun, engaging and really tailored it to their individual needs -.
She was always thoroughly prepared and always used a number of different resources and activities each lesson to keep their engagement levels high and always got a lot of work out of them.
Tuition was never seen as a chore to them and they were always confident in asking for help or saying that they didn't understand certain topics.
Chrissie's love of Maths and working with children is clearly evident - she is great!
Morag, Parent

We highly recommend Chrissie! Maths was made easy thanks to her. Each session was fun and tailored to engage, encourage and build self confidence for our daughters.
Chrissie was kind, patient and enthusiastic and left our girls wanting a longer session each week.
We used Chrissie for a number of years throughout primary school where she turned a dislike for maths into a subject which was enjoyed as it was no longer feared.
With Chrissie’s SEN background too this was also a great advantage, supporting accordingly.
Thank you Chrissie!
Mr & Mrs Turner, Parents

“Chrissie is a very dedicated, patient and positive tutor. Her ability to support and understand my daughter made learning mathematics fun and enjoyable. Her approach and communicate skills was always outstanding and extremely professional.
My daughter loved the tips she taught her and often refers to them “Chrissie way”. Thank you for everything and my daughter always said “I wish she was my maths teacher at school."
